This Festive Season

As we enjoy the festivities of today, and this season, let us not lose sight of the greatest gift that was ever given to us...Jesus! While we are not advocating December 25th as the actual birthday of Jesus Christ our Lord, we will rejoice in the fact that He was born. His birth indicates to us that the creator of this universe; God, robed Himself in flesh (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6 & Matt. 1:21-23), came into His creation, so that His blood could be shed for our salvation. The bible clearly states that “...and without shedding of blood [there] is no remission” (Heb. 9:22). God would not entrust our salvation to any other, hence, He did the job Himself. Consequently, He created a body and entered into it, so that he envelops and occupies that body. As such, even the blood flowing in Jesus’ body was the pure, sinless and powerful cleansing blood of the Lamb that would be shed for the washing away our sin...that in a ‘small’ nutshell, explains why salvation is through Jesus, see Acts 4:12. No wonder, Timothy 3:16 says “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of As we enjoy the festivities of today, and this season, let us not lose sight of the greatest gift that was ever given to us...Jesus!
